My Favorite Hikes in Park City

Park City: There is nothing quite as spectacular as tromping through wildflowers, frolicking through meadows, winding through forests, and summiting peaks. Every hike in Park City is a one-of-a-kind adventure that is sure to take your breath away (and not just because of the altitude). 1. Armstrong Trail

Trailhead: Silver Star Lift

Level: Moderate

Distance: Depends on route. 3-5 miles

Highlights: Lots of tree cover and great views of the Park City Valley and starts and ends at Silver Star Cafe. Celebrate with a post-hike beer and delicious meal.


2. Mid-Mountain Trail

Trailheads: Silver Lake Village Deer Valley, Top of Town Lift, Top of Pay Day

Level: Easy to Hard

Distance: 1-23 miles

Highlights:Long mountain trail, plenty of access points


3. Round Valley

Trailheads: North Round Valley Trailhead, Old Ranch Rd Trailhead, Trailside Park

Level: Easy to Moderate

Distance: Varies

Highlights: Easily choose between short loops and longer loops, very dog friendly. Avoid this trail in the heat of the summer, they are exposed and can get hot.


4. Rob's Trail

Trailhead: Bear Hollow Drive

Level: Moderate

Distance: 1-4 miles

Highlights: Ski area views, phenomenal aspen groves


5. Iron Mountain

Trailhead: Iron Mountain Trailhead

Level: Moderate/Hard

Distance: 2 miles (out & back)

Highlights: Lightly trafficked, views of downtown Park City


6. Flying Dod Trail/Glenwild

Trailheads: The Woods Trailhead, East Canyon Creek Trailhead, Spring Creek Trailhead

Level: Easy/Moderate

Distance: Varies

Highlights: Variety of options, open views of nearby mountains


7. Utah Olympic Park

Trailheads: Stay Park City office, The Alf Engen Ski Museum, Run-a-muk Dog Park

Level: Easy/Moderate

Distance: 1.5 to 7 miles

Highlights: Very dog friendly, views of the Olympic ski jump and bobsled track


8. Union Pacific Rail Trail

Trailheads: Echo Dam Rd Trailhead, Coalville Trailhead, Prospector Park Trailhead

Level: Easy

Distance: 1-28 miles

Highlights: Flat trail, expansive views of the Wasatch Mountains


9. PC Hill

Trailhead: PC Hill Trailhead

Level: Moderate

Distance: 1-3 miles

Highlights: Fun short hike with views of both Heber Valley and the town of Park City


10. Jordanelle Reservoir Trail

Trailhead: Marina

Level: Easy

Distance: 9.1 miles

Highlights: Relatively flat, large reservoir surrounded by hills and mountains. Stunning views!
